A branch's only job is to stay connected; fruit is the vine's business. So much striving comes from branches trying to manufacture what only abiding produces. “Without me ye can do nothing” is not an insult — it is an invitation to stop straining and start remaining. Stay connected today through Scripture and prayer, and let Him produce the fruit.
Abide in Me
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Jesus, my Vine, keep me abiding in You today. Apart from You I can do nothing — with You, bear much fruit through me. Amen.
