David did not say the Lord is a shepherd, but my shepherd — personal, present, and committed. A shepherd feeds, guides, protects, and searches for the wandering. Because He is yours, “I shall not want” is not wishful thinking; it is a settled account. Whatever you lack today — wisdom, provision, peace — your Shepherd has already seen the need and is already moving toward you.
The Lord Is My Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
My Shepherd, thank You for watching over me. Lead me today beside still waters and restore my soul. Amen.
